Toybrary Austin
Consistently designing for a variety of media platforms to ensure this local business conveys fun in their messaging while informing the public of their multiple service offerings.
ABOUT THE PROJECT
Toybrary Austin is an innovative business offering a multitude of services for its niche clientele. This little neighborhood hotspot is the perfect addition for the busy toddler’s adventures in learning. Owner Liza Wilson, after working in early childhood education for many years, saw an opportunity to engage the quickly growing child and their need to explore through creativity and imaginative play.
Dryer Creative works closely with Liza on an assortment of projects to convey the diverse ways a customer can utilize Toybrary Austin to nurture their child’s development.
OUR APPROACH
As a natural creative thinker, Liza often approaches us with original ideas to showcase the Toybrary Austin brand. When we take on a new project, we’re aware the design should be able to inform the adult, but appeal to the curiosity of a young child. Incorporating bright and bold colors in the graphical elements exudes a place of fun and adventure.
At Dryer Creative we empathize with the need for visual examples when trying to grasp what a business is offering us; therefore, we are sure to use actual photos from experiential events at the store when creating a marketing flyer.
For the website, we engaged Amy Gelfand with Gelfand Design for the development. We were able to utilize the core branding, custom designed icons, creative font styling and professional photography to showcase the Toybrary experience. With the expansive service offerings, we needed to design the site with dual navigation to ensure the user had as few clicks as possible to find the desired information.
The wall mural was a brand-new medium for us. We were hired to digitally design the mural that would then be installed by a professional muralist. Extending the design from the original painting, we brightened the colors and added additional rays to finish out the wall. Taking into consideration that Liza wanted to have this mural as a community photo opportunity, we were sure to size the bears so that a young child could stand beside them and both bears could still be seen. We finished the design with interesting font treatments showcasing the core services of Toybrary Austin.
